The SV205 is our most popular boat of the SV Series coming in with a 98 inch beam on a 20 foot, 5 inch length. We built this boat a little taller than your standard bay boat to fill the niche for a bay boat - close off shore hybrid and have a comfortable 20 inch freeboard inside. The other goal was to provide a platform that although still a full featured fish boat could do dual service as a family boat when needed.
All the SV Series boats have a 17 degree dead rise bottom with two lifting strakes and a slight reverse chine. We use our new SV console in this boat with a larger instrument panel, six stainless steel rod holders, four stainless cup holders and a built in storage box. The SV panel has a Yamaha tachometer, speedometer, volt and fuel gauges and a Marinco power point. Circuit breakers protect the seven switches for navigation lights, bilge pump, aerator pump, fish pump, courtesy lights, horn and an accessory switch. The accessory switch has two sets of wires for powering add on radios and depth finders. The fuel tank is 0.125 marine aluminum and is located below the floor. There is one standard aerated live well on the boat and the aerator pump is mounted on a bronze thru-hull and sea cock. The inner liner is cored with Airex foam for stiffness and is bonded to the eight inch wide fiberglass stringers for additional strength. All the wells and the entire liner is spray foamed for insulation and sound damping.
All lids on the boat are fiberglass and are built using a vacuum assisted resin transfer molding method for superior strength and light weight. All hardware above and below the waterline is stainless steel and the forward lids have locking latches. This boat has an insulated storage well in the console seat and another in the center of the rear deck. On the port side of the rear deck is a large insulated well that can be a fish ice box, storage well or as an option, plumbed for a release well. In fact the entire boat is foamed for sound and temperature insulation and of course...unsinkable safety.
One of the more exciting features is our new AKS (Air Keel Step) hull with a small air step on the keel directly below the console. This air step adds forward lift to get the boat out of the hole quickly and running with a slight aft rocker. With speeds nearing 50 miles per hour with a 150 horsepower this is one quick boat for her size and weight. The AKS hull really works, brought to you by the same guys that designed (the very copied) SRV bow to the skiff world.
If you are looking for a bay to off shore fish boat that can handle a tournament or a family outing...you need to look at the SV205.
